Family immigrants are those who come to Canada as a parent or grandparent of an already living Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Refugees are those who need protection from persecution in their home country and have been granted refugee status by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
Protected Persons are those that have been granted protected person status by CIC due to humanitarian reasons or because they will be at risk if they return home.
